Privacy
Songroll privacy policy. Last updated 10 October 2026.
Songroll does not collect any data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and Songroll has no server of its own.
Microphone and audio
While the camera is open, Songroll listens to the music around you so it can stamp the song on your photos. The audio is analyzed on your iPhone as it arrives and is never recorded, stored or uploaded.
To name a song, Songroll uses ShazamKit, a service from Apple. It sends Apple a short audio signature (a fingerprint computed on your iPhone, from which the audio can't be rebuilt), not the audio itself. Apple returns the song's details. Apple handles this request under the Apple Privacy Policy. Tempo and key are measured entirely on your iPhone.
Camera and photos
Photos you take are kept in Songroll's own library on your iPhone. If "Save stamped copies" is on, Songroll also adds each stamped photo, and any poster or reel you save, to your Photos library. Songroll asks only for permission to add photos; it can't read your existing photos. Nothing is uploaded.
Table mode takes photos automatically, but only after you start it, and it shows a notice on screen while it runs.
Apple Music
If you tap Playlist on a setlist, Songroll asks for access to Apple Music and creates a playlist in your own Apple Music library through Apple's MusicKit. The song list goes to Apple to make that playlist and nowhere else. Songroll does not read your listening history.
Title suggestions
On iPhones with Apple Intelligence turned on, "Suggest" proposes a title for a setlist using Apple's on-device language model. It runs on your iPhone; nothing is sent anywhere.
Purchase check
Songroll checks its App Store purchase record with Apple's StoreKit, on your iPhone. It receives no payment details.
Your data
Everything Songroll keeps stays on your iPhone and is included in your device backups. Delete a photo or a side in the app, or delete the app to remove all of it. Photos you saved to your Photos library stay there until you delete them.
Children
Songroll collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
