Need help with Songroll? Start with the answers below. If something's still wrong, contact Omar Habra with your iPhone model, iOS version and what happened.
Songroll didn't stamp the song.
Songroll needs microphone access to hear music: Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone > Songroll. Naming a song also needs an internet connection. When a song can't be named (a live band, a DJ edit, too much crowd noise), the photo is stamped with its tempo and key as "Untitled", and you can name it later.
The song on a photo is wrong.
Open the photo and tap "Wrong song?". You can type the right title and artist. For an Untitled song, every photo taken to it is renamed together.
Can I try it without music nearby?
Yes. Tap "Demo song" on the camera screen. It plays "Night Bus", a short original instrumental made for Songroll, and the next photos are stamped with it.
How do sides and setlists work?
Every 12 photos make a side. Tap the counter in the bottom-right corner of the camera to see the side. Tap End side (from 3 photos) to make the setlist poster, in Stage or Paper style and three sizes. Sides from the same night can be merged in the library.
How does Table mode work?
Tap the table icon at the top of the camera and then Start Table mode. Set your iPhone down facing the room. It takes one photo per song (a short burst, keeping the sharpest), shows a notice to the room and plays the shutter sound for every photo while it runs, and stops by itself at 15% battery or after 6 hours. Tap Stop to see the side.
The Apple Music playlist didn't appear.
Creating a playlist needs an Apple Music subscription and Sync Library turned on (Settings > Apps > Music). Without them, Songroll lists each song's Apple Music link and lets you copy the tracklist instead. Songs that aren't in Apple Music (like the demo songs) can't be added.
Where are my photos?
In Songroll's library (the button at the top left of the camera). With "Save stamped copies" on in Settings, each stamped photo is also added to your Photos library.
Is my audio recorded?
No. Audio is analyzed on your iPhone and never recorded or stored. See the privacy policy.
